Every time I thumb through a Home magazine I fall more in love with animal skin rugs. Most of the time they only come in ginormas sizes and are quite costly. I found this cute little skin rug here.I was quite excited! I knew exactly where I would put it. I think it goes perfect with an antique dresser, monogrammed linens, and my vintage bottles! It finishes off the glammed up country style in this powder room!
WoW, where do I begin. I've been here so many time in the last months wanting to come here and talk, but each and every time, I was overcome with emotion, and got up and walked away. I just could'nt see the importance of making small talk about " Pretty Things" when I was dealing with the news of my Dad having Cancer. Worst yet dealing with the fact that he had not made a committment yet to Christ! Heavy Stuff huh? lol But with much behind me now, Im ready again to talk and share about " Pretty Stuff" Thank-you to all of you who emailed me and checked on me in my absence. I have had numerous requests for another class....so class in now open.
The project that I will be teaching is going to be a Soldered Picture Frame.They can be hung from ribbon, chain, or anything you can think of. Here are a few of mine.....excuse the bad photos...it was early and the sun was steaming in a window causing a terrible shaddow..
Two different types of glass were used here. The square is regular window glass that I cut to size (I will teach you how to cut glass), and these smaller house shaped beveled pieces of glass. You choose.

This was my most favorite table scape of the entire Blog-her-party event!...minus the head in the right hand side of the first picture)! lol. Hey it was bound to happen, people were everywhere.
The table was draped in linen fabrics and on top sat the most wonderful old birdbath filled with hydrangeas and roses. Pretty pink candles sat in beach sand in these pretty green mason jars. Each jar was adorned with vintage jewels to add a touch of glam. Above the table was the place I photographed over, and over, and over. It was so creative!! Paper lanterns in the prettiest shabby prints hung at different lengths over the table while vintage pettie slips in the softest colors seemed to dance all on their own among the lights. It was such a wonderful touch. Here are a few more favorite vignettes of the day. More come in the next post.
As many of you know, my Pastor lost his oldest son last Thursday. Much to our surprise he spoke Sunday morning only 3 days after the tragic event. Here is what he had to say....
The last time we visited this beach location ( only last month), I was able to capture some awesome images including this one! I will be relaxing, reading, sunning, and catching up with good friends for the next 5 days.
The Junk 2 Jewels school is underway, we have 6 or so students, and are almost ready to start our first project! yeah!!! If you have been thinking of joining, don't hesitate to much longer.....when we begin or project, class will be closed. Thanks so much to my wonderful girls who have joined. Once we get going there is no limit to what we can create. Im looking forward to sharing my workspace with you when I arrive home!

It was a wonderful time as usual. All my favorite fabulous Vintage Vendors were there. I can't decide which I like best, the shopping or visiting! lol. The girls have been trying to get me to join in on all the fun for quite a while now, and well......Im feeling the time is RIGHT! Junk 2 Jewels will be joining them as a Vendor in August. Mark your calenders. This is going to be one Galmed up Party you Wont want to miss!
Welcome to registration! As you can see our classroom is small, so Im only accepting 20 students. I want to keep it small, and intimate. Any more and I don't feel like I would be able to give you quality, personal attention. As I've mentioned I have set up a Yahoo group which we will be meeting in. Open conversation, Instruction, pictures and links for supplies will all be private in our classroom. Only those who are class members will be privy to the information. You will be able to go at your own pace, on your own schedule, no driving or lodging, just a short trip to the computer and wha' la' your in class! Please make sure you are able to access Yahoo groups before going to my shop. and purchasing the Class.
This jeweled bottle is our first project. I have this one on display sitting on a copper and silver tray in my bathroom.
The good news is that the response to a Junk 2 Jewels Workshop was an overwhelming " count me in"! so I have taken the first step by creating a "yahoo group" for all the students to come hang out, compare notes, learn and chat. This will be our "Classroom" so to speak. You will receive an invite to join the group after registration fee is complete.........the bad news.....
My computer is sick. Not great timing I know. Im taking it in later today to be worked on. This is why there is no picture accompanying this post. Part of the trouble is my Photo shop not opening. UGH! its always something. My next post will be featuring the workshop project, instructions for workshop payment, and hopefully some new bottles and stoppers for sale.
